Ian Stone

8th October 2026 @ 19.30

Ian Stone is 'Looking for the Wow'
"Life can't just be the humdrum, the mundane and the routine before the inevitable slide of disease, decay and death. Why can't we sneak in a bit of awesome, a tad of amazing and maybe a smidge of wonderful?" A forest canopy opening onto a huge vista would be enchanting for some but Ian's ancestors wondered the desert for forty years, they've been outdoors enough.

Others get their fix from the spiritual but Ian's been harbouring a grudge against God since his mother stopped him going to Arsenal after his Barmitzvah. Forty-nine years ago. 'God will be watching' she said. Well, at least he got to see the game. The point is, life could be so much better so Ian's on the lookout. Come and join him on the hunt.

Ian Stone is a hugely experienced broadcaster, podcaster and writer and a brilliantly funny comedian. He performs at major comedy festivals and venues globally. His popular posts and reels on social media have quickly earned him a following of over 60k across BlueSky, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, amassing millions of views.

Aside from stand-up comedy, Ian co-hosted the award-winning Rock 'N' Roll Football show on Absolute Radio for five years with Ian Wright. He currently presents a very popular (50k downloads per episode), twice-weekly Arsenal podcast, Handbrake Off, for The Athletic. A live version of the podcast recently sold out Leicester Square Theatre in London. Ian is also a regular contributor on Times Radio. His book To Be Someone was published in 2020 and has received nearly 500 four- and five-star reviews on Amazon.

Camp Theatre Presents

Murder at Checkmate Manor

30th October 2026 @ 19.30

This hilarious comedy follows the on stage calamities faced by an incompetent "Am Dram" society.
Expect falling scenery, broken props, badly timed cues and side-splitting humour.

If laughter is the best medicine book your treatment now!

Three decades before 'The Play That Goes Wrong' opened on the London stage there was 'The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen’s Guild Dramatic Society Murder Mystery'.

Mrs Reece, doyenne of the F.A.H.E.T.G. Dramatic Society, sometimes thinks her shows are jinxed compared to productions she has seen at the Old Vic and Stratford-upon-Avon (“of course, they’re not as adventurous as us”).

For some inexplicable reason lighting and sound cues are sometimes misplaced, lines are forgotten and there was that unfortunate time when the set collapsed; at least the Stage Manager is now out of Intensive Care.

Tonight’s production, though – the self penned Murder At Checkmate Manor – promises to be a triumph.
With a cast of five, some of whom have acted before, the plot is a real cracker.
Will Lady Bishop survive the night?
Have Colonel and Mrs King made a wrong move?
What fate awaits Mrs Castle the cook?
And did Pawn the Butler really do it?
Throw in a delicious recipe for Lemon Souffle, a Fashion Show featuring the perennial winner of the Miss Farndale Beauty Competition plus a Murder Mystery Quiz with a prize for lucky audience member and the evening is likely to linger long in the memory.
What could possibly go wrong?

Johnny Coppin joined by Richard Trethewey

Over the years, he has played many times in Cornwall, at venues from Port Isaac to

again be offering a support set and joining Johnny for a few numbers in his set too.

Wyrd Sisters

25-28th November 2026 @ 19.30

ST Austell Players Are Very Pleased To  Present

Terry Pratchett's Wyrd Sisters

Inspired by Terry Pratchett’s Discworld, is a sharp, witty twist on classic Shakespearean drama. The play follows three very unconventional witches - Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg, and Magrat Garlick as they stumble into royal intrigue, political chaos, and a suspiciously theatrical murder plot. With its blend of satire, magic, and mischievous humour, the story celebrates the power of storytelling and the wonderfully odd characters who shape it.
